Melissa Scott is a master loctician and the founder of Loc Em Up Products, a handcrafted hair, scalp, and skin care brand. Her work is rooted in helping people care for their scalps and feel confident in their hair, whether they wear locs, braids, twists, or loose natural styles. With more than 28 years in the beauty industry, Melissa brings hands-on experience to every product she creates.

Melissa’s journey began in Jacksonville, Florida, and took root in Atlanta. After years behind the chair, she began making products in 2011 to meet her family’s and clients’ needs for scalp care and hair moisture. That practical work grew into Loc Em Up Products.

Today the line includes Scalp Restore Growth Oil, Thirsty Locs Moisturizing Oil, Lemongrass Loc Refresher, Loc & Twist Serum, and Body Glo Hydrating Body Butter. The range supports everyday scalp, hair, and skin care. Loc & Twist Serum is the product specifically made for retwists and starter locs.

Melissa is also the creator of Loc Talk Tuesday, a series centered on hair care education, entrepreneurship, and culture. She has worked with celebrity clients and appeared as a platform artist at the Bronner Bros. Hair Show.

Her mission is to uplift her community one scalp at a time.
